When do meetings happen?

General meetings are held every Wednesday during lunch at A223 (Ms. Vu's classroom).

Service meetings (an opportunity to do a service project during the school day) are held during the THIRD Wednesday of each month during lunch at A223.

MOMmie meetings happen on the LAST Wednesday of every month, where we recognize a member for their outstanding efforts to grow as a Key Clubber throughout a certain month. YOU might even get recognized, so be sure to keep on serving ;)

What are meetings like?

We will recap old events, relay information about upcoming events (such as service opportunities and DCMs), and learn more about what Key Club does for the community. Occasionally, there will be guest speakers; we've had alumni and Kiwanians come to our meetings to speak about how this organization has impacted them! They serve as an opportunity to jumpstart connections for the future. We sometimes offer a break from general meetings, where we either host a social or do a challenge (like eLEMONate) for charity.

During service meetings, you'll have the chance to earn half an hour of service just from actively participating in them! Past service projects include Color A Smile and graduation lei making.

What happens if I miss a meeting?

That's alright! There's no penalty if you miss a meeting. However, in order to sign up for service events and Digital Service, you need to come to our meetings, as our slides will no longer be shareable. Information is also shared out via Instagram, Remind, and Discord!

Where can I get the latest updates/news for Key Club?

The best platforms to follow our activities/news is by:

  • joining our Remind (@achskc20(23/24/25/26) to 81010)

  • following us on Instagram (@achs_keyclub)

  • joining our Discord server (see Resources page)

  • joining our Google Classroom class (tinyurl.com/ACKeyClubGC)

How does Key Club track my hours?

Your hours are kept track on a spreadsheet called an MRF (Monthly Report Form). You'll be able to get a count of your hours by politely emailing our
2022-2023 KC Secretary, Lydia Zhou at lydia.zhou06@nvusd.org.
Your hours are tracked whether or not you are dues-paid.

Despite Key Club tracking your hours, we recommend you to keep track of your own hours as well! Whether it be on the Volunteer Sheets, a spare piece of paper, or a pinned note on your phone, it never hurts to document your participation on another source.

How do I turn in my hours?

Your hours will be turned in for you at the end of the year!

By then, you should receive an email from Ms. Vu regarding your hours being submitted to your counselor. Those numbers should be included next time you get your transcript.

How should I be preparing for a Key Club event?

An email reminder will be sent out to everyone who signed up for an event prior to it happening. If you find that you can no longer attend that event, let an officer know or remove your name from the event sign-up sheet.

Amidst this pandemic, it is important to remember and to stress the importance of wearing gloves and masks, as well as having a bottle of hand sanitizer. In some events, volunteers are offered extra pairs of such items. However, we strongly suggest carrying an extra pair of gloves, or an extra set of masks in case they are not offered at the event.

A COVID-19 liability waiver is required for any Division events. You must print, sign, and bring it to the event or else you may be asked to go home.

Key Club protocol also asks for your to sign our Medical Form, so that we can contact emergency support if you get hurt during service! Medical forms can be found in our Google Classroom as an assignment.

In addition to your protective gear, you can also have your ACHS Volunteer Sheets filled out and prepared to give to an adult. You may also politely ask Ms. Vu for volunteer sheet signatures if you feel that the timing is right.
